Capital Rap Show

June 3, 1989
(95.8 FM)
London, England, UK

With truck-loads of that "Basement Rock" AND some "Dancefloor Justice" there’s plenty of tracks "on that smooth tip" as this is a Saturday night Capital Dance Show. Check the TL for World Premieres of EPMD and Roxanne Shante, some Teddy Riley productions and some Teddy Riley remixes. Tim refers to EPMD’s DJ as DJ K La Rock, plays NWA at the wrong speed and describes them as "The LA Gang members," he shouts Mikey D from Blackmarket Records who was playin at Future Funk at Crazy Larrys in London, and he mentions a new Friday night timeslot for the Capital Rap Show [2-4 am].  The winner of the Break to the Beat Competition, Ann from Leyton, gives a shout to the staff at the Record Village in Walthamstow, and generally, there’s just some great music from June 1989 [and some RnB bits I have no recollection of]. This tape originated out of a digital trade of shows from ‘Dave from Essex’ beards ago. Dave if you are reading this, huge propers.
