About Radio 1 Rap Show

The Radio 1 Rap Show was hosted by Tim Westwood, and broadcast from London, England, UK. Also known as the 1FM Rap Show, it ran from 10 December 1994 to 14 September 2013. Similar to the previous show on Capital Radio, along with recognised groups, it featured a plethora of rap artists on independent labels making their way up the rap ladder. The general tone of the Radio 1 Rap Show was a tipping point in the general sound of rap and being on a national station, it introduced the culture to a new generation of listeners.
